BT today launched Succession Enterprise 3.0, the new software family for the Meridian 1 and Succession 1000 communications platforms from Nortel Networks. Succession Enterprise 3.0 combines Meridian 1 and Succession 1000 (formerly CSE 1000) on one single software stream. The new release will be available both to BT‘s installed base of more than 12,000 Meridian 1 systems, many of whom want a hybrid solution as well as greenfield customers looking for a scalable IP PBX.
Succession Enterprise 3.0 brings together Meridian, Signalling Server and Optivity Telephony Management (OTM) software. It offers a choice of three platforms – the Meridian 1 digital PBX, Succession 1000 multimedia converged IP PBX or the new Succession 1000M IP PBX.
“Businesses have been cautious in adopting IP Telephony – some do not wish to lose their original investment in telephony systems; others are nervous about installing new technology that may need high maintenance, upgrading or replacing. Succession Enterprise 3.0 gives customers the confidence afforded by established gateway technology, full processor redundancy to keep their business working 24×7, and the security of a trusted brand,” Mike Willacy, product marketing manager, BT Convergent Solutions commented.
