Avaya has announced the appointment of Roland Richter as vice president for Northern Europe, Enterprise Communications Group (ECG). Richter holds responsibility for business leadership and driving sales across Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Switzerland. He is based at Avaya’s EMEA headquarters in Waterloo, Belgium and reports to Lars-Ole Hansen, regional president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
His primary focus will be to accelerate growth in the sub-region, by demonstrating to customers and prospects the advantages of moving to next-generation communications networks via IP Telephony and multi-media contact centres.
Commenting on his appointment, Richter said, “I am thrilled about joining Avaya during such an exciting time for the company as we address the growing market for converged communications across Europe.”
Richter spent ten years at Novell, leaving the company in 1998 after two years as vice-president EMEA. Since 1998, he has held leadership positions at Ezenia and Dragon Systems.
A German national, Richter graduated from the Technical University of Hanover with a Masters in engineering. He has lived in the UK, the USA and Germany.
