AT&T Inc. announced that it has won a three-year, $1.8 million contract from The Parksite Group, an employee-owned building-material distributor, to provide data and voice networking and hosting services.
AT&T is providing an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) integrating Parksite’s 17 locations throughout the United States. The fully meshed solution provides more features and improved security at a lower cost. It includes Voice over IP (VoIP) capabilities, and the company also plans to implement AT&T videoconference services.
‘Our goal at Parksite is to double our sales by 2009,’ said Patrick Rogers, director of IT for The Parksite Group. ‘AT&T is helping us meet that objective by providing an infrastructure that enables faster implementation of new sites as we continue to grow and add more facilities .’
AT&T is also hosting Parksite’s critical applications at its Chicago-area Internet Data Center (IDC), ensuring around-the-clock access to data and providing business continuity capabilities. AT&T operates 28 IDCs around the world.
