beCogent, one of the UK’s leading providers of outsourced contact centre services, has appointed senior industry professional Charles Breslin as its Managing Director. He joins the company from Churchill Insurance and will be responsible for leading beCogent’s next major growth phase as it moves to become a £30 million business within the next three years.

Charles Breslin brings over 20 years of senior customer service and contact centre expertise to his new role, having held senior positions with some of the UK’s largest financial services organisations, including the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Group, Churchill Insurance and Halifax Bank of Scotland. Before moving to beCogent, he was a key player behind Churchill’s move to create a virtual contact centre resource to support the group’s broad range of customer service activities, and was head of its Contact Centre Strategy group. Before that he worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland Group driving a wide range of the group’s customer service activities and its contact centre strategy.

“Charles Breslin brings exactly the kind of deep contact centre and industry expertise that will help ensure that beCogent continues to set the standard in outsourced contact centre customer service delivery,” commented beCogent’s Chairman, Dermot Jenkinson. “Over the last year, we’ve invested significantly in the people and infrastructure we need to support our next major growth phase – including the opening of a major contact centre in Erskine, Renfrewshire – and we’re looking forward to reaping the benefits of that investment as Charles Breslin and his team focus on developing beCogent’s distinctive customer service offering in key markets such as financial services, telecoms, retail and the utilities sector” .

Earlier in his career, Charles Breslin worked for Capita, where he helped set up the BBC Information operation – the ‘front door’ for public response to BBC services. Before that he spent over 20 years with the Halifax Building Society as an area manager in both Scotland and Northern Ireland.
