VCON announced that its endpoints and infrastructure solutions are now deployed in the Renault Group to provide video communications to 500 users over its corporate network. The installation includes VCON’s IP infrastructure servers and desktop endpoints.
On the release note it is said that VCON met all Renault’s requirements that included stringent feature requests and complete integration of the videoconferencing applications into the existing complex network environment. The large size of the installation required robust and reliable centralized management capabilities. VCON’s Media Xchange Manager (MXM) server, which is based on ITU-T standards, was selected by Renault to manage the VCON endpoints as well as third-party equipment such as MCUs, gateways and videoconferencing room systems. VCON provides Renault with a global solution that enables multi-network multipoint conferences in addition to other advanced services.
The Renault installation is especially important to VCON, because it demonstrates that our solutions are highly scalable and able to support large scale deployments of several hundred to several thousand users, said David Ofek , VCON’s CEO. Renault is already in the process of significantly expanding the initial project to include several thousand additional video users on the network and we are committed to supporting the project as it continues to grow .
