CosmoCom announced that Japan Telecom has deployed Contact Center On-Demand (CCOD) services based upon the CosmoCall Universe platform.

Japan Telecom is joining a growing number of major telephone companies that are offering the hosted contact center as an alternative to traditional premise-based solutions. The service is offered under the brand name IP-One Contact Center.

Japan Telecom acquired the CosmoCall Universe platform from HP Japan and Takachiho Koheki (TK). HP Japan and TK also provided Japan Telecom with system integration and implementation services for the Contact Center On-Demand platform.

‘Frost & Sullivan sees a growing demand in the Asia/Pacific region, and certainly in Japan, for hosted contact center services following the on-demand model,’ said Audrey William, Lead Call Center Analyst for Frost & Sullivan in the Asia Pacific Region. ‘By working with a CCOD platform supplier like CosmoCom, whose product has been proven in the CCOD offerings of many other first tier telcos, Japan Telecom wisely shortens its lead time and increases its chances for success.’

‘Japan Telecom is providing a wide range of services to some of Japan’s largest and most important corporations,’ said Ari Sonesh, CosmoCom’s Chairman and CEO. ‘Their CCOD offering will allow their customers to benefit from the economies of the hosted platform, and the time-to-market advantages of the hosting model. We are pleased and proud to be a part of Japan Telecom’s solution package for these companies.’
