France Telecom and Motorola have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint development of Seamless Mobility Solutions. This collaboration will include the establishment of joint research and development teams, the sharing of R&D funding, and the principle of sharing intellectual property resulting from this announcement.
This partnership aims at developing and deploying new and innovative, integrated services, using a wide range of wireless access networks and technologies, for the home, office, car and on the move.
France Telecom sees this collaboration, as clear demonstration of its strategy to develop new and innovative integrated services for its customers independently from the access network they are using. This project will allow customers access to communication services through fixed, mobile lines or Internet. While for Motorola, the announcement marks a significant step towards the realization of its vision for seamless mobility through next generation networks, devices and applications.
