May 25, 2004 | Conteúdos Em Ingles

Logo CiscoCisco Systems has launched the new class of routing system, Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System. Its focus lies in delivering continuous system operation, service flexibility and extended system longevity to telecommunications service providers and research organisations.

Cisco says this routing system is a result of Cisco’s partnership with its service provider customers to redefine how next-generation IP networks are built to deliver data, voice and video applications. It comprises hardware and software innovations such as, Cisco IOS XR Software, system capacity of up to 92 terabits per second, Industry’s first Optical Carrier, Cisco Silicon Packet Processor (SPP) and Extensible Markup Language (XML). This system hopes to enable customers to scale network capacity to new levels and deliver next-generation data, voice and video services over a converged Internet Protocol (IP) network while protecting their investments in the system.
