Mitel, the provider of IP communications networks, applications and solutions for large and small businesses, announced the appointment of seasoned executives to spearhead the company’s continued growth. Doug Michaelides has been named global vice president of marketing and Gilles Rousso, became regional vice president of Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America. The two executives will report to Paul Butcher, president and COO of Mitel.
Doug and Gilles each bring a wealth of experience and leadership in their respective areas to the company, and collectively strengthen our marketing and sales teams,’ said Butcher. ‘These appointments will ensure that we are more effectively positioned to compete in the ever-changing IP communications marketplace .’
Doug Michaelides enjoyed a highly successful 20-year career in Sales and Marketing at Nortel Networks, culminating in the role of vice president and general manager of their global professional services business in 2002. Most recently, he was senior vice president of marketing at Allstream, one of Canadas largest business telecommunications service providers, where he transformed the go-to-market model with a segment-driven, solutions-marketing approach, driving brand awareness and market growth.
At Mitel , he has senior management responsibility for the company’s overall marketing initiatives. Mr. Michaelides has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto as well as an MBA from York University.
Since joining Mitel in 1992, Mr. Rousso has been instrumental in establishing the Mitel brand in Latin America, where he grew revenues year over year. In his expanded role as vice president, he is responsible for all sales and distribution operations in this large and increasingly important region. He has more than 20 years of business experience in the avionics, electronics and communications industries, and he holds a Bachelor of Science (major marketing) degree from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island and an Associate’s Degree in industrial engineering from the University of Lowell in Massachusetts.
