1747 — Alcatel will supply 3G/UMTS radio infrastructure to Telefónica Móviles España

Alcatel has been selected by Telefónica Móviles España, as a supplier for its 3G/UMTS network. Under the terms of the agreement, Alcatel will supply and install 3G/UMTS radio based stations, called Evolium Node I, which are suited to ‘closed environments’ and Indoor Broadband traffic.
 

On the release note, Alcatel states that is providing Telefónica Móviles with its multi-standard Evolium solution comprising a compact and easy-to-install UMTS radio access node. The Alcatel solution will enable mobile end users, whether in shopping centers, corporate buildings, underground areas and car parks, train and bus stations or airports, to access to all Telefónica Móviles’ 3G broadband services.

Marc Rouanne, Chief Operating Officer of Alcatel Mobile Communications activities said that “the Company is very  proud that Telefónica Móviles is becoming one of our major partners in Europe having selected Alcatel’s 3G/UMTS radio solution.T hrough its exclusive service partnering with DoCoMo Engineering in 3G indoor coverage, Alcatel is uniquely positioned for the efficient roll-out of 3G broadband access solutions’ .
