Avaya Inc. has acquired all of the assets of RouteScience Technologies, Inc., a maker of adaptive networking software (ANS) for enterprises and service providers.
Avaya will continue to support RouteScience customers and offer ANS while developing expanded offerings that continue to advance Avaya’s strategy to provide solutions and services that deliver superior reliability and performance in converged voice and data networks.
On the release note, Micky Tsui, vice president and general manager, Avaya Communications Systems Division, points that “RouteScience adaptive networking software helps companies monitor and manage voice over IP (VoIP) and other latency-sensitive traffic over wide area networks. Based on open industry standards, RouteScience solutions can operate with technology from a wide variety of vendors. ‘This acquisition enables Avaya to offer customers a wider choice for enhancing reliability when connecting branch offices using VoIP,’ said Nick Lippis, president, Lippis Consulting. ‘As complex communications applications move to IP networks, the ability to deliver real-time data traffic management as part of a complete solution will offer competitive advantages for Avaya.’
