Sakrament, a Belarus software developer of Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Speech to Text (STT) technologies for the Russian language, announced that its engine is now available for PDAs and related handheld devices. Sakrament TTS Engine PDA Edition is the first in a series of planned announcements to support Sakrament‘s mobile wireless initiative. Designed for optimisation of user interactivity with PDA devices, the Sakrament TTS Engine PDA Edition adds speech to a wide range of applications, converting any text based information into speech, by modeling the intonation of the individual speakers, rate and volume controls.

Supplied with Microsoft Windows CE software, the Sakrament TTS Engine offers new mobility features to PDA users while on the go. Users can obtain any information from news track, traffic reports and e-mails as well as from books and documents without interrupting other activities.

Sakrament provides developers with the SDK tools they need to configure and tune the Sakrament TTS engine to meet the requirements of each specific device and application.
