Siemens Business Services has been awarded the contract to operate the SAP R/3 systems for Austrian telecommunications provider ONE, based in Vienna. The outsourcing contract, which will run for six years, is worth five million euro. The Siemens subsidiary will manage the complete SAP application landscape and provide the entire hardware and software infrastructure in separate data center

ONE offers mobile communication, network and internet solutions. With more than 1.6 million end customers, it is one of the largest telecommunications providers in Austria. Siemens Business Services is taking over the running of the classic SAP core application for Connect Austria, as well as the telecoms industry solution SAP IS-T, the Business Warehouse and the purchasing platform EBP.

Siemens Business Services employs about 2,600 SAP specialists around the world. In Austria the company is the no. 1 SAP service provider – with wide-ranging experience in consulting, implementation and operation. As general contractor, the Siemens Operating Group supervised, for instance, migration of the entire budgeting and accounting system of the Austrian administration to SAP R/3 – one of the country’s largest administrative reform projects.

Siemens Business Services is currently implementing SAP R/3 at all 21 universities in the country in order to set up an efficient accounting system. The company is thus also reinforcing its position as market leader among public sector contractors in western Europe.
